SISD #37 - Servant Leadership with Tanya Ramos
- Servant Leadership - Helping people realize their potential to help others by operating through a lens of humility and gratitude
- Fear as a Motivator - Uprooting the expectations imposed on you by using the fear of failure to pave your own path, even when you don't have a roadmap
- Being an Agent of Change - There are so many different ways to contribute, and it’s important to not limit yourself to a certain standard or expectation.
- Pencils of Promise - As a For Purpose organization PoP is taking an innovative, entrepreneurial approach to providing access and removing obstacles to education in a sustainable way.
“I’ve always said there is so much power in the collective. In order to realize full potential, you have to collaborate.”
“I’m not going to hold on to things loosely, I’m going to hold on super tight. That’s how I’ve lived my life - Fearlessly and without regret.”
“What really motivated me was ensuring kids who looked like me around the world had access to a quality education.”
(With reference to inspiring service) “You provide them with the motivation, inspiration, and the tools to go about doing it.”
(With reference to the work of Pencils of Promise) “All of our schools are still fully operational to this day, and that’s not something a lot of NGOs can say.”
